I have always wanted to use a power probe to detect shorts , draws and bad grounds . I feel I need to look into a power probe . I need to know which power probe would do everything . I couldn't live without my Power Probe. All Power Probes are basically the same. The difference is a couple of different color choices and different accessory packages that they come with. Power probe is a great tool for powering up circuits, but in the wrong hands can create a lot of problems. Power probe 3 doesn't measure current, so it won't be useful for detecting parasitic draws. My problem I am having is a vehicle I am working on has no dash lights . The fuse blew and I cannot trace the wire to see where it's grounding out . So this isn't the first time I ran into this problem . So that's why I wanted a power probe ? Is this still a good tool to use ?
