You will need to unhook negative battery cable, jack vehicle up and place on stands, make sure the gas tank is close to empty, then lower the tank. Be careful when lowering the tank to avoid damage or bending of the fuel lines. Just be careful and do not allow anyone to smoke around it. Just another comment is that if that car still uses the bail ring to hold the assembly in keep constant contact with a screwdriver or what you might use. No sparks is a must. Just know that an empty tank is more exposive than a full one!! But you really can't do this without it being lighter. I always used brass and never had to worry.
