my aunt gave my dad a 91 cutlass sierra. I went to pick it up and found the rear wheel driver's side frozen. Tried rocking it free with no luck. With out thinking too much...I released the emergency brake, and hearing nothing, I depressed it a few more clicks. It still would not release at all. The car is parked in Maine, near the water, so I would like to get it out of there before the snow. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Sounds like the parking brake cable is rusted solid. At this point your just going to have to tow it to a shop because it's not going to be easy to get apart.

I suppose your right. I was hoping for a quick fix to get the car back to the Boston area to work on it ( I live about a hundred miles away) but Maybe I can handle this long distance via phone.

Did you try taking the wheel off and then lubing everything up? Ive heard that technique works sometimes. make sure you clean up afterwards so your brakes work properly.

Lubing what? ........... lugnuts?

Forget that. There's noting the lube. Everything is inside the drum and the drum isn't going to come off while the brake is applied.
