Inspection Certificate
Hi guys, ok from what i have been told from a auto tech teacher about inspection certificates is that you fill out your VS-120 form and send a check for about $25 to some facility and a few days later they send your something in the mail and it tells you when and where your test is. My question is does anyone know how long it takes to get your certification? will i leave the facility with my certificate that day or would it take a few weeks or months to come in the mail. thanks for your help

I can't speak for inspection protocols for every place. Here and most I know of you just drive in to any one you want. Ask a place that does them what you need, your insurance company or place where you would get a registration as if you just got the car, T

No Tom, what he is talking about is an application for an inspectors license in the stater of New York. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Ooops! Never mind. I though it was about getting a sticker not being the one who does it - whole different game. Still - ask someone who has it as they should know. Here both the person has to be certified to do them and the facility up to par which you would expect, T

Guess I'm guilty also......... I thought he was taking about getting an inspection for a car. That's why I didn't chime in, I don't know how it works in NY. If it's anything like ASE, it would be 6 to 8 weeks.
