Why do I have to switch to winter tires? I go south for the winter, winters or all-season?

Who said you have to switch?

We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You never have to switch tires depending on when used and what conditions. All season covers 95% of everyone anywhere which is why that's about all that is sold. If you used a vehicle in wild mountain Winter driving you'd have chains and snow tires + two sets of wheels.

Read your tires now for what they are rated for. All passenger car tires have ratings for what they are best at,
