My friend just went through traffic school and said the teacher told her that if you block your face behind a magazine or something while being photographer they cannot give you the ticket.
is this true? it sounded kinda too easy and fake to me.

This is a silly subject as if you don't do something wrong you don't need to worry at all! In my state the tolls will send a photo of the license plate to the owner with a ticket if toll isn't paid! Those don't know who was driving it and mistakes happen with the automatic transponders that suck the $ out of a pre-paid account and those can be wrong.
So far they aren't holding issues against owner of the plate as they don't know who was driving. Rules change by the day so can't say for what goes on elsewhere.
I know rental car companies are making folks sign and have credit to cover infractions caught this way!
It's always best to just not get in trouble to begin with. Agree or not - we share the roads so they are not a right but a privilege that can be revoked,

The only toll road we have around here is on the outskirts of Toronto; it’s only about 65 miles long and costs you around thirty bucks to drive its length.
Cameras take a picture of your plate and they send you your bill; doesn’t matter whose driving; the bill goes to the registered owner.
Don’t pay your bill; you cannot renew the licence plate of that vehicle.

Bentley; I'm sure by covering your face, they wouldn't be able to identify you. But, what bothers me, wouldn't by doing that restrict your vision? Sounds rather foolish as well as dangerous behavior. Agree with Tom. Play by the rules and you don't have to worry about stuff. Your driving instructor needs to find a different career for even suggesting such a thing.

a few months back I saw a news story about a man in California who contested 30 different speeding tickets in the course of a month because the driver was wearing a gorilla mask. His defense was that there was no way to prove it was him. But they sent an unmarked surveillance team to watch him and got photos of him putting on the gorilla mask prior to getting on the road that had the photocop. Looks like his defense went out the window. If you want to speed enough to be nailed for a ticket, and you know there is a photocop on the road you drive, then suck it up and do a speed that won't get you stopped. Its as simple as that. If thats not ok with you, then pay the ticket and know you had it coming. I know all the hiding spots in my area that cops sit at, and when I get nearby I slow down so as not to be stopped. Have yet to get pulled over by doing so. But if you can't do the time (or pay the fine) don't do the crime.

It's an older thread now but the more I hear of this photo ticketing and they are doing it in my state in some places - now mostly toll
issues unpaid at the toll. Ya - registered owner gets the problem or bill.
Would be great to find your car if stolen or of some help that way. Otherwise this is one great reason not to let anyone use a car in your name. Been a while since I've rented a car but in the fine print is that you have signed rights for the rental car company to hit you for the bill!

Rock and hard place again. Guess we need traffic controls as they are public and at the end of the game it's clear - driving a vehicle on public roads is a PRIVLEGE - NOT - a RIGHT.
What's wrong is way too much of ticketing is revenue enhancement more than traffic/public safety at least in some places,
