93 Olds Cutlass Ciera S - Help with FOB Sign In

I have the original FOB which I have NOT been using (10 years), but I would like to start using it. I had the batteries changed recently (at lock shop). I went out to try it out and it did work, but is intermittent. It is completely unpredictable, some times it works and sometimes not. And when it does work it requires multiple button press.
One thing I am going to try is fresh battery change, self installed.
Any other suggestions?

Re: 93 Olds Cutlass Ciera S - Help with FOB Sign In

Isn't that one just to open driver's door and two pushes other doors or just trunk and one for lock all? Does a red pilot light work when you push buttons away from the car? Could be the car's ability to respond not the fob.

If the one I think it's just one tiny Phillips head with the key ring removes or not there it is. Clean where battery touches with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and the foil lumps the bend when you push them seen when open. Careful I recall a wire you could pull out need to solder if back on but can.
IDK - some hardware stores could replace whole thing for low $$ now or batter maybe just the 2016 flat one 1.5V you could test yourself either has that or low.

Dollar Tree sells those for buck I think?

More about it. Why do you care at this point you have the key out already to start it? I just don't recall many working after a few years anyway nor be able to read which button did what wore off.

Have fun but would spend much on something ill thought out new IMO could open other cars or they open yours - how special. Do you really want it now you don't need it?
