Accidentally Put E85 Fuel in '06 Altima What to Do? Sign In

Can anyone w/ knowledge give me some insight please. I accidentally put e85 fuel in my Nissan Altima and never thought to look at the writing on the pump station, I just looked as I always do at the prices and I ended up pumping a full tank full in my car.

After 30miles returning home from my trip my check engine light came on and at high speeds my car began to vibrate pretty good, when I slowed it ceased.

I'm taking it into the Dealership tomorrow but want to find out now what to expect, did I just ruin my car?????

If so I'm going to sue the heck out of that Gas Station who reads the pumps anymore these days, all fuels in recent times work in all regular fuel cars, this has got me so angry.Pirate

I doubt if you did any serious damage, you'll probably be looking at getting your tank drained and a fuel service if this is what is causing your problem.....

You may want to rethink you legal argument.....That pump could've easily been diesel......Now if nothing was posted that would be different............

docmac; Yep, sue someone for your own mistake. Pretty damned easy to blame someone else, isn't it? Grow up!

This is why there are a half dozen stickers written in 3 languages with pictures to go with them on a simple push lawnmower explaining that the blade turns when if runs(duh), that it can cut things (obviously, look what happened to the grass!) and my personal favorite, don't try to pick it up and use it as a hedge trimmer!!!!! Also why McDonalds has to write on coffee cups that the contents are hot. I personally expect it to be hot, I expect lawnmower blades to cut anything that touches them grass or not, and when I go to a gas pump I LOOK at what I am doing. If I don't its MY fault. The only way the gas station is to blame is if it was full service and their employee pumped it in. But since its not 1953 anymore those stations are rather scarce. You screwed up, its your fault, and suck it up because nobody else is to blame.

Hell, why not have a few beers first and then sue Miller and the lawnmower company! Its a double payday for sure! Oh, gotta go. I spilled my coffee and my lawyer is calling me back. Got to take this call.

I with you. Go sue that gas station! On your way to the lawyers office don't forget to take down your sun screen for your cars' windshield it's dangerous if you don't. You don't want to be in an accident. Just incase you didn't read the warning on the box it came in.
