Can't find the right wheel cylinder

I have a 1995 Ford Aspire (submanufactured by Kia in Korea) and a couple of years ago I needed to replace the rear wheel cylinder. As it turns out, all of the available wheel cylinders for the Ford Aspire do not fit within the drum. After trying around 8 different parts, (we even tried the Kia dealership) we finally decided to rebuild the old one, but there was a large pit and the car is aging. There is only one 1995 Ford Aspire model and one listing for a wheel cylinder while, according to all the parts stores, no other axle fits under the car. At the same time, the brakes and the hardware kit, which we recently replaced again, are correct. Recently, I've been toying with the idea that a wheel cylinder from a Fiesta, which is closely related, may be a solution, but it doesn't seem likely. Has anyone encountered this problem? Or better yet, does anyone have a solution? Thanks.

It could be that the parts listing got screwed up in their system and the wrong number keeps popping up. I would take the wheel cylinder off and bring it to the parts store with me. If you think it would match a fiesta part, compare it right there at the counter. Otherwise, they could match it up with something else that would work in it. Sometimes the smallest and most common thing can be a real pain on certain models.

Actually, I have brought the wheel cylinder into several places and they did try to match it up. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to match. Thank you for the suggestion and, if you have anything more to add, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

There are several NAPAs around my area. I can't remember if we tried NAPA specifically, but there is a parts store called Advantage and few independent ones that took the time to checkout a few different wheel cylinders. Unfortunately, I've found even NAPAs parts aren't always the good stuff. I just changed a wheel bearing only after 10K miles from NAPA (rear) when the one from Autozone (front) has far passed that mark with the other two original only on the verge of going bad. I was thinking it might be possible to use some sort of identification code to reverse index the cylinder to the car. I'm certain not if such data exists on the wheel cylinder and what lists I might be able to find. I'm afraid simply comparing the parts to what the store has will not be sufficient. In fact, many of the stores do not always carry the parts I need, so I would have check far too stores and far too many parts. Thanks anyway. If you have anymore suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Agree - NAPA at least ones around me are true parts professionals and take the time for tough stuff. If all fails my own local but huge to New England is Automotive Brake Warehouse. They aren't looking for web or biz but will ship upon request if really needed. If really stuck best to call directly 978-562-7004 and since you seem to know this is a tricky part already have an old one in front of you or all dimensional specifications ready. I suggest wherever you go or what you do to advise them there are already known issues getting the right part(s) for this as a heads up, T
