Changing Ignition Lead Size

Hi. Asking this question. Can I fit 8 mm Ignition Leads into 7 mm end caps for Distributor? thanks in Advance. Ant

What gets inserted into the dist cap is the metal clip at the end of the wire, not the wire itself so if you can get the clips to work on the larger wire, there shouldn't be a problem inserting them into the dist cap.
PS, I really don't see a need to move to larger dimension wires as you will not see any difference.

Thanks for you advice. I thought it would give a bit better spark at the Plug. I will take your advice and not increase their size..

No, that's not the way electrical current works.
It only uses the amount of current required to travel through all the resistance, back to ground. The coil capacity is around 35K volts but a secondary circuit usually only uses 12-20K under normal use with good wires and plugs. The only thing you are adding with the larger wire is more insulation.

NO as well. IF something so silly really made any real improvement in firing a vehicle it would be done new. More: Watch out if putting some cheap junk on the resistance inside could ruin how well it does so stick with OE rated they did know best. Thicker could help if abusing or rubbing and they shouldn't be,
