Hey there, I have a couple of mufflers and a bunch of exhaust peices, and some body panels, The Bumpers and body panels my dump will accept at $5/100lbs but they wont accept any exhaust/emission parts. anyone know where i can dispose of them? I live in Laconia NH and just need something local to get rid of this stuff, its starting to take up a good chunk of space haha. Thanks! ? I'm in MA not far from you. Don't go to a dump but rather a junkyard for cars many WANT up to pay for metal(s) of all sorts. Converters are worth $$ used for their metals once even stolen off of cars, out of areas behind auto shops. Ask who in that area want the metal and the auto junk yards do or should know who does locally. IDK a place in Maine (don't know the town) had once been nicknamed "Metal Mountain" paying bucks by the pound for metals made news with lines of trucks and assorted loads. This shouldn't be a problem for you except a truck to move it if large for what you have, T

Yes, the converters have precious metal in them and are worth money. The rest of the system is just scrap steel and shouldn't be a problem to dispose of. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Both of you: Metals are easier to "recycle" than to fine ore and make new. Prices for what type vary daily. Google a specific metal as they are listed as "commodities" on the markets. As HT said converters have precious metals in them even totally rusted outside or inoperative have known value by weight still up there. Local to me wants (can say for a while) appliances but doesn't pay just takes them free vs pay to dispose of. Duh - if small amounts or no way to transport there are paper adds that fill my mailbox for people to pay (less) or charge to haul away assorted junk. I doubt actual recycling is done anywhere near New England but transports as chips or squished. That IDK. Said - at times people were stealing metals off cars, copper plumbing out of homes or buildings so this shouldn't be a problem. Web may be difficult for you to find the place as most just know where which is why I said ask at the dump/transfer station near you. Whole cars/trucks/vehicles you call for a quote - parts go by weight TMK and still quite popular to sell or free if they pick up or deduct cost by location for certain metals and how much, T
