Hi all,

I am in the middle of replacing the alternator on my wife's 2005 Ford Escape. It is a pain in the you-know-what. As a result I think I'm going to sell it and get something else. Does any one have any similar recommendations? I am looking at vehicles like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Jeep Liberty, Chevy Equinox, etc. What ones are the easiest to work on in your experience? I am good at mechanical work and don't mind getting my hands dirty, but when illogical things like what Ford did with the Escape happen, I'm not going to waste my time twice.Unsure

Thanks for any info!

See if you can find a 1970 Ford Maverick. Didn't even have a glove box,

Ford Mustang or Mercury Grand Marquis with the 4.6L. Can't get any easier to work on.

The Liberty is nice to work on, but they are junk.

Man do I feel old DS. 1963 Falcon - awesome. The Dodge Darts, Plymouth Valiants, let's not forgot some cool Rambler's. Should I mention Studebakers?

Oh just forgive me. Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill every time,
