It took years but I have dozens of them! East of' the rocky mountains we only have the ruby troughted type. Still great. It's a rush as they are here like bees, and you can have them too. Just get basic feeder in make plain sugar water as strong a mix as you can. That will steal them from your neighbors! These are NOT dumb birds - heck - they can fly backwards!!!!!

Just funny - it's been a bit cold here at night and I just saw one all fluffed up trying to stay warm. Sometimes I like this world of critters better than the car world, Go figure?

Hey Tom I know what you mean about these little birds, they are great to watch as they dart in out around you.
Down at my trailer that is on the north shore of Lake Erie just off of Long Point Bay, we have hundreds of them. Everyone at the park has one or two feeders and the birds have gotten use to the people to the point I’ve had one join me at the table while I was sitting on the deck. The little guy just sort of sat there checking me out as much as I was he.
The only problem with everyone feeding them is that people don’t take their feeders down in September and the birds don’t realize that it’s time to migrate south. If they don’t leave in time there is a good chance that they may get hit with some of Canada’s cold weather.
Dan.

Humming birds! They will gourge in and about September for a migration. Don't stop with the feeders until you haven't seen one for a week or so as Dan said. TMK they go to S. America for winter. Same birds will be back next spring if they like your food source. Smile, fun hobby and fun critters, Tom
