Figured I would introduce my self, as Im usually lurking around the forum trying to learn. Name is Rob. I have always tinkered on my own vehicles and helped friends with basic repairs. About 3 years ago my brothers started a used car dealership. I began working up front in sales and doing day to day stuff that needed to be done as well as minor repairs and body work on the lot vehicles. I realized how much money was being spent paying the local repair shops to ready vehicles for sale. So I began getting my certifications as an auto mechanic. Meanwhile started buying equipment to be able to handle common repair work. At this point I have my master certification (just state, not ASE yet) and our shop is small (two bays, one with small scissor lift for tire/brake work; and a two post lift for general repair). I realize that I have tons to learn, but I'm usually pretty quick at picking things up. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I ask lots of questions and sometimes I dont really think them through before I ask. I visit this forum multiple times a day and have learned quite a bit so far. Im not a flat rate mechanic, but have more work than I can handle. Mostly because I'm slow, and am cautious about getting in over my head. I usually deal with domestic vehicles late 90s to late 2000s. See you around

You are more than welcome to join in on conversations. Just please keep your advice to subjects that you are sure about and don't derail someone else's question with your own curiosities.

I am kinda in the same boat.
I lurk here a lot.
I try to do most of my posting in less serious threads for now.
I am fairly experienced and I would like to think I know my way around an automobile but I am new to articulating advice to others.
This is an awesome forum btw.

Dr. Paul was an awesome person. I remember meeting him at the old Lakeland Mall when I was a kid. I remember watching his old cheesy movies on channel 44. He actually lived a few houses down from my grandparents.
