I purchased a 2006 PT Cruiser from Enterprise in February. I had a shimmy in the front I thought was the tires or wheels. I had them balance the tires. Then i went on with my business. Then I kept noticing the shimmy under certain conditions. Finally, I began to hear a squeal making left turns which got worse. I took it to AAA. They found the lower engine mount was bad and replaced it. It solved the problem. While they were disassembling they found dye from the air conditioning system. To me this means that Enterprise knew the AC was leaking and going bad. The car only has 44,000 miles on it. Now it has cost me $289.00 to replace the engine mount and looking at another $700 to replace the compressor. My son-in-law says that is the problem with buying American designed and built cars. I believe him now. Next time Toyota.[email]

Enterprise dose nothing but change the oil and put tires on their cars. So chances that they knew that the AC was leaking are slim. Most newer Chrysler cars come with dye in the AC system from the factory. The motor mount was probably bad so soon because of renter abuse. Common place when most people rent a car. You have to expect some minor issues with a used car. Especially a used rent-a-car. As far as American versus import, equal problem with both. Repair costs tend to be less on domestic versus import.
