Refund Opinion Sign In

I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on an issue I am having with a dealership repair. The end of January we paid $3000 to have some repairs done and a new engine put into our 1992 Toyota Previa. The engine came with a 1 year warranty. In April, less than 90 days later, the engine went out. Since then they have been trying to find another engine to put in it but have tried 3 and all have had something wrong with them. Now they are giving up and saying they can't fix it. Should we get a complete, partial, or no refund at all? (They have let us use one of the dealerships loaner cars since April when the engine went out.) Any opinions and/or advice or help on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid they don't have that option. You have a valid warranty in force and they HAVE to honor it to your satisfaction. If it's really that impossible to find a motor, then that is their problem, not yours. They have to find another way to take care of you whether it be a refund or another car. Giving up and walking away is not an option. If they insist, take them to court and get a full refund plus costs.

Not sure why this is so difficult. I hate court stuff - talk it out and get full value towards the pick of the litter used cars of your choice to your satisfaction would be my approach. Deal with managers who can do this for you,
