Repair costs - 2003 Chevy Tahoe

Hello all,
Wanted to run these costs by you from the dealer. Went to the dealer cause I thought some
of it may be under warranty (engine replaced last year). 2003 Tahoe. How does this pricing sound
in general? Did I get ripped off?
Intermittent check engine light - run diagnostics, tune up - plugs, plug wires, fuel injector cleaning, throttle body service
$765.96
Slight coolant leak - replacing water pump, coolant, thermostat housing, coolant, inlet
$620.14
Oil change -
$36
Total of $1,517.00 - labor=828.51, parts=594.45, tax of 53.23, shop supplies of 40.81.

Sounds reasonable if it actually needed all that.

What was the deal with the engine replacement? New engine parts, whole used or do you know?
You really need to discuss this up front with the place. Can't know from here what they found and why,

Regarding the engine - the oil pressure would not stay up. They replaced the oil pressure sensor or something (can't find receipt at the moment). A week later, same issue. They then proceeded to get GM to pay for an engine disassemble (had 70,000 miles, not under warranty). Vehicle had been well maintained up to that point. Found scored oil pump, scored cylinder walls, worn bearings and crankshaft. They replaced the engine assembly, no charge. That's where the warranty came from. So wasn't sure if that had anything to do with the current issues. I am not a car junky...

Engine is not every little thing about it as you glance at it under hood. What items were damaged probably were replaced but not every last thing like it was brand new again.
Seems that GM took responsibility for what was damaged and the not damaged items would just get swapped over to replacement whole parts of the engine which are most likely from the original engine with that age and miles on them.
Price to make it all right now? You've broken that cost down to labor, parts, tax and a shop charge. It may all be justified and guessing that it probably is but would need to see the entire diagnostics and what it took item by item to get it up to par. Labor charge suggests this took some real time.
If all is well now, maintenace up to date I have a hard time arguing with the costs so far and wasn't there to second guess what would serve you best.
If not all running well now you should be concerned on that. How much was done and who would pay for what should have been discussed up front not after it was given the go ahead to fix it.
It's hard for me (or any regulars here) to pass judgment on how this all went down but I know we all know how costly it is to even be able and equipped to do this,
