Hi, I have a 1995 Nissan SE truck. 6cyl, about 117,000 miles. My problem is the line of lights ( I call them caro lights) on the back of the cab and the tail lights won't go off. I've checked the fuse box under the dash and all of the fuses are good. I have to unhook the battery cable to keep the battery from running down...Wish I was a genius but unfortunally that isn't the case.

Did you see any broken plastic laying by your feet? There is a little plastic pad that clips into the brake pedal lever. It's a stop and designed to push the brake switch plunger. Most the time they rot and fall out, so the brake lamps stay on.

Just wanted to tell you thanks. The brake light switch was missing. Didn't see hide nor hair of it. My 86 year old father was under there so I've got a pretty good idea he had something to do with it..But anyway!...Thanks again...May have a few more questions in the near future concerning the fuel system..Thanks and have a great day....Pete

Is there even wiring or a plug there that would be for brake lights? Have you been without operational brake lights for how ever long you've owned this?

You do mean brake lights not plain "running'' lights or some folks call them "parking" lights don't you?

Just curious on what the best approach will be now,
