This topic came up in another thread and rather than hijack that one, I thought I'd start a thread about it here. This could be interesting. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

My dad had a shop and back then anytime i wasnt in school i was working at the shop Started in 67 , pumping gas, busting tires, working the lube rack. The shop had pits ,no hoists until it was remodeled in the 70's. What a treat it was to finally get hoists. Learned the business from the ground up...wish i could remember some of it.....

I was somewhere in Boston, I don't really remember where, taking the oath before being loaded on a bus to leave for Fort Dix.

OK, I'll give it a shot. From what I remember, I just sold my 66 goat for $1250.00 and bought a 66 Impala SS conv in Detroit. Was a GM exec car. Parents went to Oklahoma to visit kin and it was PARTY-PARTY! Then on the 4th of July, I was still cleaning up from the night before, when a tornado hit. This was an old farmhouse, 150 yrs at least. Hand hewn logs held with wooden pins, the floor of the attic was black walnut (still have a couple pieces). Twisted the house off the footing, knocked out 43 windows etc etc. An experience never to forget. No injuries btw. No home either!

Oh my! CH - sorry something like that happened to you. That Sh!t happens here but almost never very destructive. It's bad - me bad. Flucking hurricane or who knows what we make drinks, sit on deck and watch. 1969! I have to disclaim my age somewhat - I wasn't old enough to have a driver's license. Didn't stop me from owning a few cars! 60s - precious memories, Tom

YES! I'm not as old as I bitch about. Started young. Knew how to change a tire at 5 years old - no joke! Grew up in a 55 Olds then a 61 Chev station wagon - Aqua no less. Binney and Smith crayons melted everywhere. I don't know how parents do it?? Gramps "G" had the newest car - a 64 Olds Cutlass. He and I would play "Chess" as a mind game that it is. B. 1895 + Died 1972 - I miss him still. Smart dude - I used to beat him sometimes - play again! "Check Mate" or "Stale Mate." Still have his last John Deere Tractor - no Sh!t! 1948 still rocks! Tom

69 , a busy year. I was hatched in the middle of the decade .Wasn't driving (legally) yet.Drove 65 galaxy 500 to school when grades were up. Spent that summer in New Oreans with mom ,parents d iv o rce in 65 . Learned a LOT on Bourbon Street (open doors on the clubs) , she let me have the run of the town . Watched the moon landing on a black and white the size of an oven .14" screen tho.Had to take out all the tubes about once a month and take to local hardware store to test on huge machine .Replace the bad one and then try to figure out where they went. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH
