Hi, I have a Mercury Grand Marquis 1997. Recently check engine light came on and through a live data scanner it showed p0302. I changed plugs a few months ago and wires last April. I decided to swap #1 and #2 plugs to see if that would help, but it still shows the same code. Could anyone direct me to what I might look at next. Thanks

Your code fault is within the coil Unimpressed

What kind of plugs and wires did you use? If you opted for the cheapest parts, that may be the problem.

I did use Motorcraft plugs, but used Autolite plug wires. I guess they may be inferior, and I did check the coils, they are 7 ohms which is less than specified , so would changing them also be in order? Thanks

Try changing the wires around to see if miss moves or stays on the same cylinder. If it moves, the wire is bad. If miss stays on same cylinder, either the coil or injector is probably the fault.
