Hi there everyone, I,m planing to buy the maxidas 708 scan tool just for fun and play around with it, any advice or suggestions.is it hard to use for a learner.

I've never used one. Looked at the demo video for it and it looked simple enough. Seemed to get pretty good access to modules and the ability to view live data is nice. Since you're working so much on your own things it would be nice if you are able to give us live data and code readings. Looked like it had a plug that can hook it up to a computer so you would be able to post freeze frame and data streams right to us. If the price is right and you like it I'd say go for it.

We use one in our shop. It's fine for what we need it for. The update system is kind of nice and you get I believe one year of free updates. If you go to the Autel website, somewhere there is a list of all the vehicles it covers and some of the bidirectional controls you can do. It is great to have if you work on a lot of imports. That is mainly what we got it for. It is similar to the Launch. It doesn't have any module flashing capabilities. It doesn't have its own battery supply, so if you knock the cable off the DLC by accident, you have to go through the entire set up of what ever vehicle your working on unless you power it externally with the cigar light adapter.

For the individual it is kind of an overkill unless you plan on working on a whole bunch of different makes and models.
