I have a 1996 dodge dakota 4x4 and I ordered a vinyl mat molded specifically for that truck. or at least I thought. they sent me one for a 2 wheel drive. It doesnt fit. Was it molded incorrectly or am I right that there is a difference in a 2 wheel drive and a 4x4 BESIDES the hole for the shifter?

It just makes sense you have the wrong item for that truck. I'm not strong in Mopars but with any similar vehicle/truck available with 4 or 2WD I'd be ticked if I bought the 2WD, automatic let's say and the "Hump" was invading on interior room + foot room for a center passenger if not needed. Side note: I don't know why any cars or whatever put carpet in vehicles. Seems everyone instantly gets rubber floor mats to put over the carpet anyway............ T

A simple check at a web site that carries OEM carpet gives the answer. Before 96 there is one carpet for 2w and 4w. After, they are seperate items. But what do I know Im just a Master ASE tech ,GM certified ,and more school time than you can count on both hands . Clink on the link for the info. Actually now that you mentioned it! the ACC is the vinyl carpet I bought! That doesnt fit! I bought it from JC WHITNEY who told me they were the same, I argued with the rep. but they were positive they were the same. Said the computer stated that there was no difference. Oh well I will just have to make it fit! What do idiots with computers know anyway! Thanks for the info everyone!

either way they refused to take it back even though it was not cut or anything. UPS delivered it and it was pouring that day. The box was destroyed and the padding got soaked and they said I could not return it in that condition even though it was not my fault! UPS says if I had been home they would not have had to leave it out side! I said next time call then aholes! anyway, JC gave me my S&H back...ohh I was impressed! Mighty businesslike of them!

I would put a claim into UPS. They don't HAVE to leave that package, especially if there isn't a safe place to leave it. They chose to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Man did this get messed up! UPS has a system and since forever here they would leave a note stating for you to go pick it up or they would try again type thing with packages. Not all of course indicated what the contents is and most folks know that returning something needs be in the package it came in. I don't get a lot of stuff UPS or other company but have found stuff that they put in plastic if the condition warranted. Agree - UPS has to make good on this as you are stuck to even exchange that for one that should fit if that was the problem all along T
