Hi, I have a 2003,Kawasaki 1600 Vulcan. It runs fine except after it is ridden for awhile and I stop to take a break, it's somewhat hard to start. I've been pulling the choke out and it's always started.I would't think this is normal. I'm afraid I'll get off somewhere and sooner or later it'll fail to start...Any ideas?...Thanks for any and all advice....Pete

Sounds like your running lean if you have to choke it when it's hot. Did you put any aftermarket air box or exhaust. When you upgrade your bike with a new exhaust system, air box or hi-flow air filter it may upset the air to fuel ratio creating a mixture that is too rich or too lean. Best to bring it to an expert for adjusting carbs or if you feel comfortable there are plenty of guides on the net for carb jetting.

Get a manual and look for carb tuning specs. Tune carb to specs then try it. Sounds like it's lean.

Zmame had already gave the advise and signed off with the poster .Why do you insist on repeating the same advise on out of date posts?
