I have a 98 kawasaki kx250 i took it to the track found out i needed fork seals so the bike sat for 2 weeks exactly went to start it won't start. Cleaned the carb, new spark plug, did spark test, new fuel mix. Still won't start, unstead every now and again i get a crackel sometimes loud sometimes soft. What can i do to make my bike start. Its now been going on 4 weeks.

Does it have compression?

Is the plug wet with fuel from cranking on it?

Turning off the fuel supply, draining the carb bowl, dont get fuel everywhere, or if you spill some, give it a while to dry off, then pull the spark plug and kick it over a couple dozen times (make sure there isnt dirt around plug area that could fall in the hole) with the fuel still shut off. Re-install plug, choke it and try starting it. If that doesnt cut it, youre gonna have to start looking for problems (assuming it ran up until it was parked - I would lean towards a carb problem, did you take it apart and clean it, or just spray carb cleaner in there?) Any chance you have a hill nearby to try to roll start it (carefully)? 2 strokes can be a pain...

I would advise changing your user name unless you want the spammers to have a field day with it.

Unbolt the header pipe and try to start it. If your exhaust is restricted this will let it start. Are you mixing your gas or letting the oil injector do as it should? What color is your exhaust? Ever used an AF tuner?
