Can you replace a scored pin w/o replacing rod?

This is a Honda 110 cc scooter run with low oil. The piston pin and the upper rod bearing have scored each other - the pin considerably, the rod end slightly.

My question is: Will it work well to replace just the pin and to smooth down the high points (ridges) on rod bearing if not enough to increase the pin to rod clearance?

I realize the load bearing surface will be reduced by the grooves in the rod end, but these seem slight.

I am only considering this because otherwise, it is 3x the tear down effort to open the case, and the parts are expensive, as I can't buy just the rod, have to buy the entire crankshaft - it is all one assembly.
