I have a 1988 dodge dakota V6 2 wheel drive pickup truck. It is leajing water from just above the starter. (quit a bit I may add) is this caused by a blown head gasket or this the location of the freeze plug? if so could this leak be caused by a worn freeze plug? or is it a blown head gasket? I checked my oil after wiping the stick off and the oil appears to be fine.

There are lot's of those so called "Freeze Plugs" and yes they can leak. You gotta see it to know. Dry off area, pressure test - whatever it takes. Those plugs are NOT there for freeze protection but making the block when new. If you haven't used antifreeze the chances are higher they rust out. They rust 100 times more often then pop from freezing, T
