I have a 1989 Chev silverado 1500 4x4. When I pull the 4x4 shifter into either 4 low or 4 high it won't go into 4 wheel drive and stay. The 4 wheel drive light on the floor will light up briefly then go out. It acts like electricial put Mr Goodwrench I'm not. Please help!! thanks in advance dlewis

Just a shot in the dark, has anything gotten into the shifter linkage and moved it out of adjustment?" Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Another shot: Does this use the vacuum diaphragm near battery that when told puts and holds the actuator in 4WD? If so - perhaps it doesn't hold or get good vacuum - I think it's just a hose to manifold vacuum?? T
