1990 Toyota SR5 Pickup - Died While Driving Sign In

1990 Toyota SR5 pickup 2wdr 4cyl, 325 000 km

Driving at 50mph down the road, running nicely, then died suddenly, no warning, nothing. Had just previously replaced wires, plugs, distributor cap, so should have spark. Couldn't hear fuel pump kick in when I turned the key, so, foolishly, I replaced the fuel pump, but it still wont start. I'm now wondering if the problem is electrical - fuse? Working on the side of the road in my hayfield, so could use to at least move the truck before haying season.
Thanks

You won't hear the fuel pump when you first turn the key on due to system design.

You need to test for spark using a spark tester.
Check for trouble codes in the ECU by jumpering TE1 to E1 in the diagnostic connector under the hood. Turn on the ignition and count the flashes of the check engine light.

Let us know what you find out.
