Hello : heres the story ,,,, 1989 / 1990, mfg date late 89 , titled as 1990.... 318 V8 , has the funky {CFI } fuel system, Automatic tranny , 2 wheel drive, D150. Truck has 89,000 miles... was running fine on my way into work.... Weather clear about 78 degrees no rain. hit a pothole in the road. The truck just died - shut off...... tried to restart engine , it just spun over,,, It sounds like its cranking over just fine... Let it sit for a few minutes an attempted to start again,,,, This time truck started up fine.... Drove oh about 4 more miles pulled in to driveway, Just as the truck hit the gutter that runs in front of driveway. Bam it dies ,,, once again engine just spins over.....

Didnt get off work till after dark .... Attempted to start truck . It just spun over ..... Got a ride home,,,,,, , Next Day got off work about 1/2 hour before dark,,,, Truck Started up just fine,,,

Let it sit an idle,,, popped hood,,, when along an shucked an pull on wiring an such, seemed ok ... THEN as I slammed the hood to get it to lock,, Truck shut off,,, Same thing again,, would spin over , wouldnt run... seems to be getting fuel however,, So im thinking its in the IGN System... Where do I start here ???? . It was suggested the ECM is faulty ????. I cant get any codes when I cycle the key.. The lite on dash doesnt even come on...Thank You

With the engine running, try tapping on the ECM with a screwdriver handle and see if the engine responds in any way.
