How much trouble would it be to drop in a carbureted 350 into a 1993 gmc truck with five speed transmission. What all would I have to do?Thanks again for the advice and patience.

It would take a few changes. you would have to install a completely different ignition system and manually wire it. Your computer is tied into nearly everything so it would be totally screwed up. The biggest reason not to do something like that is that it would totally be against Federal law to drive it on the highways. There are laws to prevent stuff like that although they are rarely enforced. If you live in a state with inspection, then you definitely could not do it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Not to mention all the reasons HT stated....but that is like 2 steps backwards... Kinda reminds me of when HEI 1st came out & guys were pulling those dist's out & putting point ones back in.

My 2 cents: The later common Quadrajets (if used on this) were a nightmare AND expensive to fix properly! T

I've done a little work to the other engine,it has an edelbrock 600 manual choke performer carb, full length heaher, wiend street warrior intake and lunati vodoo cam idle-5500 range camshaft. With a 4-speed it pushes my old 78 around pretty effortlessly but the bady and frame are shot on that truck.Ide love to try it out in a lighter truck with one more gear.I'm louisiana so as long as I have converters on it they wont say much as far as law goes
