I have a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser. My passenger side power seat no longer moves back after a trip to the car wash (they moved it forward and couldn't get it to move back). As I look under the seat I see that the pass door side threaded rod is spinning and moving a fraction of an inch back and forth but the driver side threaded rod isn't moving at all. Does this indicate an electric malfunction or is it possible that when the car wash guys moved my seat forward to vacuum that a coin got stuck in the driver side railing? (again still discussing the passenger seat only) And if it is a coin stuck in the railing what is the easiest way to fix since I can't see in the railing and if it is an electrical issue, is there a way to manually override the system so I can move my seat back?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, it's probably stuck. Try helping it along by hand while hitting the switch.

I'm a pretty strong dude and i couldn't shake it loose. Any overrides to go manual with it?

i had the same problem.

well first off, you are not supposed to see that spinning rod, and the reason your seeing it is because their is a plastic screw that has come off.

i went to the toyota dealer and they wanted to charge me about $130 for this whole casing part that i dont need just to get that screw.

i searched all over the internet and could not find any spare parts of anything even went to the junkyards, they are truly hard parts to find.

at any rate.......i found this place...and you can get these plastic screws for about $19.95 for two.
