a 1996 isuzu truck{24v}'s universal temperature guge calibrated from 40-250 digrees celcius records beyond 250 digrees celcius within 20 minutes of starting the engine and even with the engine still not that hot. The truck's mileage is 500 000km. What causes this and what needs to be done. This is a matter requiring urgency please. Thanks in advance

If youy really had 250 degrees Celsius, you would have nothing but a molten puddle of metal. Your gauge is junk.

Why would even need a gauge that reads that high?

Thats not an automotive gauge.

It probably not compatiable with the trucks sending unit. If it doesn't have its own temp sending unit it probably won't work with that set up....Check your directions for wiring....

The best option would be to fix the factory gauge, the next best option would be to use an aftermarket gauge designed for automotive engines...
