I am able to shift into 4h only when in park. When in drive, when i press the 4hi button nothing happens. Also, I have no vent controls. all positions go to the defrost and dash vents.

Check the vacuum hoses up near the master cylinder that go to the vacuum reservoir inside the driver's fender. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Thank you, I will certainly try this and let you know if it works. At wits end.

Wow!you are a genius! Found the hose and it was collapsed. 4wd working perfectly! Two trips to the local mechanic and no results. Try this one, I get only heat through the defrost and dash vents. The floor vent and the defrost\floor vents do not open. I have replaced the actuators on the transfer case and the one beneath the battery box with no results. Thank you.
