2000 sierra, drl's dont work

i have a 2000 gmc sierra and the drl's dont come on when it starts. the auto headlights always come on even in the daytime. i can overide and turn them off but the drl's still dont work. Could this be in the sensor on the dash or a relay or something?

Maybe check the 2 fuses for the DRL relay one is marked IGN E and the other DRL; both are 10 amp.
You could also try switching around the micro relays; most are the same; if you have fog lights switch that one for the DRL.
You have checked the bulbs?
