i have a new OEM carb for 1983 chevy silverado, low atitude ,model #CC10703, H code VIN #,catalist #BPEGR/0C Heavy Duty tow pacage(factory) ,heavy duty Rochester 4bbl quad-jet ,what can i not use in emissions controll system and need diagram fix'n up the TRUCK

Diagram exists but I don't have it. They all cam with stickers with color coded vacuum lines and all that and surely you can't read it anymore. You need the EGR in that thing or it will knock at part throttle. The TermAC which is just warm air from manifold isn't important and the more expensive rear choke pull off can be skipped but use it and adjust it exactly if it's new now. It gets vacuum when warmer air is sensed in the air cleaner. Electric chokes were a problem so make sure it works. Hard to defeat those as they need the electric to heat them not just exhaust temp. The metering thing is needed if there on this - a quadrajet is it? In 83 you could still put a non electric carb on those but do need to fuss with the choke set up. Owned a 350 4V in a 83 Suburban so know a good bit about this and lots about the era, T
