1984 Ford F150, 302 auto w/ orig FoMoCo 2bbl carb. I was driving and my truck died like it was out of gas. Friend brought me about 2 gallons but it still would not start. Turns over fine but doesn't "catch" to start. I found a vaccuum line that was off and attached it. I have another line coming from the back of the carb that curves around the pass side that looks like it should be on something but I have no idea where it goes. I'm fairly new to repairs like this but oretty good @ understanding. I don't have access to a timing light but appreciate any advice I can get, Tabby Cat

Start off with finding out what is missing spark or fuel. Take the coil wire off hold it a 1/4" from the block and crank the engine to see if there is spark or spray some carb clean down the carb to see if it starts for a few seconds.... This will tell you where you need to be looking...
