Thank god I found you guys, I am having issues with my truck brakes, the truck is a 2002 chevy silverado 2500hd with a 6.0 gas engine, here is the scoop I'll be driving along stopping and starting at lights and stop signs then all of the sudden the brake pedal gradually gets harder to push, to the point that the truck does not want to move its like there locking up on me,I then bleed the master cylinder brake line nuts under fill cap then the brakes release and there fine for a day or so then this happens again, please help I'm desperate for help I can't afford 65 an hour plus parts I would like to resolve this problem myself if some one can help me thanks alot for your knowledge and know how.

Has any work been done to the hydraulic system recently?

One of 2 things is happening. Either the fluid has been contaminated with something oil based and that will damage the whole system or the other possibility is the pushrod does not have sufficient free play to released all the way.

Re: Brake pedal is getting hard to push Sign In

The next time the brake are locks, loosen the bolts that hold the master on and pull it away from the booster about 1/4". If the brakes release, the rod is the problem.
