Chevy 4x4 right output axle shaft not going in.

Chevy 4x4 right output axle shaft not going in. Sign In
We have a 1992 Chevy 1500 4x4 truck. Was replacing right side half shaft and the right output axle shaft came out about 1 inch. Now I can not get it pushed back in any idea what might be holding it out before I take the axle tube off. Can not pull the right output axle shaft due to it hitting the frame. TNX
