What kind of wrench or socket can I use to adjust the plate/bar on the bottom of the door? It looks like a Torx but 30 is too small, 40 is too big and I can't find a size in between. I tried hex, 3/16" kind of fit but slipped. 4mm is too small and 5 mm is too big.

TMK that's a Ford product. I HATE it when they use some different size just to be a pain in the butt. Try asking a tool truck driver or a body shop could be your best source for the size. If you have a chance post what it is so the world can know.

I must own $40,000 bucks worth of tools and get so frustrated when some engineer decides to use something new and cost me most of a day to find it! If you want to do this on line, check, Matco or Snap-On, just two that come to mind. Good luck,
