F150 Brake Lights

I need the schematics for the fuses on my 1989 F150. My brake lights are not working, I've checked all the fuses, all seem to be working, but I don't know what each one is for. I tried to take the tail light lens off to check the bulb, but am not sure how to do it without breaking the lens.

Check the wires at the brake pedal switch. It's a funny two wire switch that is near where the brake pedal pivots and the wires are sometimes a bit short and pull one out. If you find that, a new plug is easier than trying to solder in a wire and some extra length can help it be the last time you are there. I only find them used and cut an extra length and wire tie any extra wire away from anthing moving. The switch itself can be bad. Should have power to it all the time (I think it's a green wire) and sends out power to the other when pedal is pushed. If you replace that switch, take real care as it involves removing a "clevis type" retaining pin and if it fell apart you would be left with no brakes!!!!! At any rate, that's a common spot for troubles. Newer ones won't shift out of park when they fail which can cause some bad words to be used! Good luck, Tom
