Fuel problem Sign In

I have a '95 Chev. PU with a 350. Recently I started to experience problems starting it when the fuel level was low, around a 1/4 tank. I had the fuel pump replaced and the problem went away for a while. Now, if the vehicle sits for a day, it wont start. Previously when I encountered this, I'd fill the tank and be on my way. Now the tank is full and it still won't start. It seems as if when the PU sits for 24hrs. the fuel drains away. I have also cycled the ignition to build up pressure in the fuel pump, but that doesn't work now either.
At a loss. Thanks for any advise.

You need to use a fuel pressure gauge to find out for sure what is going on with the fuel.

The Mech. who replaced the fuel pump said it was a little low, but didn't seem too concerned.

If he didn't test it during the failure, the test doesn't mean anything.

OK. Lets assume the new pump is not the problem. What other problems will a pressure test indicate?

We're not assuming anything. Check the fuel pressure and we'll see if you have a fuel problem.

Just because it's a new pump doesn't mean anything..
Do the fuel pressure test as you were told, then post the readings.
