I have a 1995 Ford Ranger. When I start the truck, it makes the dinging noise as if my door is open or if I got out of the truck and left my lights on. Only problem is, is that it does while I am driving down the road and takes 5 mins or so to stop.

Switch that turns interior lights on and probably doubles to indicated door is open is likely. Switch could be in door jam or at latch inside door. Test with helper pushing on outside to further tighten how closed the door is. If that works then over time the latch and striker or hoop are just worn and most all can be adjusted (striker or hoop) where latch catches to make door shut tighter. If a round striker on this scribe or mark where you started, just barely loosen fasteners and tap inward just a tad at a time. If that, it might take less that 1/8th inch to do the trick. Some came with plastic cover that would be gone now and IMO OK to just adjust and lube. Don't go nuts or have that way off IF and ONLY if this is the trouble as way off the door could chip paint on edges if too much off, Just a likely guess, T
