Notice an oil leak at the rear of oil pan and thinking the gasket is dried rotted broken or both. Won't know till I do a through cleaning. My question is in my repair manual it states braking the motor mounts raising the engine up to do so or lifting up the front of the engine with a floor jack, but I've removed oil pan without raising the engine but that was on a Dodge Ram. To me looks like there is still plenty of room the books always make removal no big deal ether just drain the oil and drop the pan once bolts are removed. What I've noticed what they don't say is a lot of times you have let the engine warm up before that oil pan will even break loose. Let me know what some of you've done. Did some other on-line research and there seem to be no other way than lifting the engine a little for clearance to remove pan completely.
