Where's my fuel filter?

I own a 88 Chevy Blazer K5. Can't locate fuel filter. My blaze sat for 18 months and have had an issue with bad gas. I can't keep an idle but can drive as long as I'm on the gas pedal...When I try to maintain an idle it will be unsteady and if I reverse it may stall and if I put it in drive sometimes there are surges of gas, my truck will accelerate, even if I don't have my foot on the gas.

It's mounted inside the right side frame rail, about halfway back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It's a round metal canister with a line at each end.

It's a low pressure system so there won't be a lot of pressure but there may be some. Open it slowly and have your eyes protected. Use 2 wrenches to loosen the lines. Use a pan to catch what siphons out.

Your not going to clean anything. Your going to replace the filter.
