battery Sign In

2002 blazer s10 v6 the battery went dead, so I replaced it with a new one, the truck fired right up but wouldnt stay on unless I left my foot on the accelerator so I turned it off and know the new battery says its dead Pirate any ideas?

It's not the total issue with this but know that new batteries aren't charged! Sounds just as stupid as it is but you or the place you got it needs to charge it first!

Lead/acid batteries are about 50+% charged when just filled - that's it!

It's enough to start a vehicle but it charging system can't finish it needs to be checked out,

jd; To add to Tom's advice; The PCM will lose it's KAM (keep alive memory) when the battery goes dead or is removed for a while. It's entirely possible that it will have to relearn idle stratedgies which will require driving it 15-20 miles.
