I have a 99 S-10 Blazer that clunks very loudly when shifting from 4X4 to 4X2. It also clunks when I shift into 4X4 but not if I stop before I shift. It doesn't matter when going into 2 wheel drive. It clunks if I stop to shift or shift on the fly. I checked all mounting bolts, driveshafts and axles. All are tight. Please help me if you can. It has a 4.3L with push button electronic shift for transfer case.

Have you checked the torsion bar mounting bushings? I mean the ones on the rear of the bar under the seating area.
