dodge 1500 idle problem

I have a 2001 dodge 1500 5.2 when the truck is in park it idles around 1500rpm then gradually revs up to around 1800-2000rpm it doesn't go down after it warms up it just started doing this all of a sudden. i haven't tried anything yet but I am kind of new to this so i was hoping i could get some help..... thank you

First step is to get it scanned for codes. Should be some. Most parts stores will scan it for free. Need the exact code numbers, not a generic description. Don;t let some parts guy guess at what it is and sell you a bunch of stuff either. Just tell us the numbers and we go from there.
