i smell a strong odor of gas when I turn off my 1994 Ford F150 pickup (4.9L). I have examined the gas lines from the tank to the engine compartment while engine is running and while engine is off. cannot locate leak or why odor is so strong as soon as I turn off engine. Any suggestions or ideas?

You do have a leak somewhere along the pressurized system and you just haven't found it yet. It will evaporate very quickly and that is why you have a hard time finding it. Sometimes using a little baby powder can help but the leak may be in an area that you can't see like the top of the tank. It could also be one of the fuel injectors on the engine.

Freddie - doesn't take much to make odor, Older vehicles usually rust out lines first and tanks in question too. This is a MUST to find and fix,
