89 chevy s10 with a 2.5 5 speed i drove it in to the garage to change the clutch and flywheel did that now i dont get the fuel pump to run ive put in a new pump and ecm still nothing the old ecm was blowing fuses switched relay

All this started after you did a clutch job? Which fuses were blowing?

Have you inspected the harness that runs around and near the transmission and bell housing? Maybe you got one pinch or damaged an electrical harness. Do a really good visual inspection under there.

yes ive checked the wires and the plugs that went on the t5 trans even checked the wires that run down the driver side of the frame

Never seen an ECM and fuel pump go bad right after a clutch job.

ECM B is used to protect the circuit for the fuel pump. Is that fuse still blowing? Did you install the same rating fuse(10 amp)? When you turn the ignition on, does the fuel pump relay click on for a few seconds and then click off?

its not blowing anymore and dont hear relay clicking

Using a 12 volt test light or volt meter do you have battery voltage at the ECM B fuse with the ignition on?

i navent checked yet will do that monday as well put a new relay in

Why you installing parts? You haven't even figured out what is wrong. Where did you get the replacement ECM? ECMs don't go bad after you do a clutch job.

When you turn the ignition on does the check engine light come on? Any trouble codes stored if the check engine light is working?

The ECM is supposed to turn the check engine light on for a bulb check when you turn the ignition on. Usually if it doesn't that means the ECM isn't working or the bulb is burned out. The ECM may not be working because it has no power, no ground, or is faulty. Maybe your salvage yard ECM is DOA. Do you still have the old one?

The ECM gets part of its power from the ECM B fuse which is hot all the time. The ECM will send power to the fuel pump relay to energize it. The ECM B fuse on the circuit also feeds power to the pump after the fuel pump relay is turned on. If the ECM turns on the relay and the fuse blows, part of the ECM goes dead and the fuel pump relay doesn't get any power.

What you should do is remove the fuel pump relay and then reinstall your old ECM. Turn the ignition on and see if the fuse blows and make sure the check engine light comes on and the ECM flashes 12. If the fuse doesn't blow it is probably blowing after the relay is turn on which means you have a short somewhere after the relay. Still have a gut feeling that wiring got damaged and shorted to ground during your clutch job.

Let us know what you find out. Make sure that you have a 10 amp fuse installed. If you put higher rated fuses in there, it may burn up wiring. The fuses are rated to protect the wiring.

i fixed it it was a pinched wire it was under the cross member thanks for the help
