rough running 1993 chev 1500 truck Sign In

I have a 1993 chev pickup(cheyenne) 1500 WT with a v6 4.3 2 wheel drive .Truck went into a shop for some tranny work. When it was there 6 vehicles were hit and catalitic converters were stolen. After the cat was replaced the truck started to run like crap.I was told it was a map sensor(changed)temp sending unit(changed)still have a reading on codes that my o2 sensor is not working.(never had one or can find wiring for one. When it warms up about 10 minutes it starts to run very rough.Any ideas?
hopefully this is more informative than my previous post.

Re: rough running chev truck Sign In

Cheyenne isn't a model, it's a degree if trim. V6 isn't an engine size, is an engine configuration.
Do you have a C1500, K1500, C2500. K2500, S10 2WD, S10 4WD.... etc, etc, etc
Do you have a 4.3L TBI, 4.3L CFI? or maybe something you installed yourself?

What's that supposed to mean?

What's been done already?
Any warning lights on?

Sky: To me newcomers are welcome but please read the threads and pay attention to dates as some are just plain done even if the original poster didn't come back with with a fix or failure?

Just know that many here hold the word "moderator" with their name and have been around here a while.

Understanding what some posts mean is an art or plain guessing.

Re: rough running 1993 chev 1500 truck Sign In

Was it running good other than tranny problem before the cat was "donated" ? Look for the O2 in the exhaust pipeing below the maiifolds and before the cat . If its not there go back to whoever did the exhaust work and have them explain where it went.

I believe I will need to get a wiring diagram so I can determine which wire on the computer is the one for the o2 sensor

There should be an obvious plug or cut wires in the area.

Re: rough running 1993 chev 1500 truck Sign In

we had to put in a new y pipe as it was badly damaged when the old one was removed with the cat. There is a hole in the new pipe for a o2 sensor. As for any wire none could be found so I will have to trace back from the computer to see which harness it may have been in. Thanks again for all your efforts.!

Re: rough running 1993 chev 1500 truck Sign In

The cut wire HAS to be in the area. You haven't put a different harness in it so it has to be there somewhere.

I assume we're talking about the front 0/2. The 93 didn't have a rear one.

The wire has been found. When it was cut it was cut as close as it could be.A new o2 sensor has been installed and the truck is running fine.
Thanks to all that replied and have given input.Keep up the great job!!!!!!!!!!!!
